Oki-Doro Lantern. Based on the design of a traditional tea ceremony lantern, this would have been placed on top of a flat-topped rock, but works equally well situated at ground level. It has a hexagonal base and top and has Japanese characters on three of the side panels depicting “Sun”, “Moon”, and “Rain”. The top is removable to allow access for candles or electric lighting.

Yunoki Lantern. An ideal partner for the Oki-Doro, this lantern stands on a pedestal with the Japanese character “Shining Light” embossed into the circular base. All our lanterns have removable tops to allow patio candles to be added, they also have a hollow centre allowing for electric lighting to be fitted. If a larger base is required, a stepping-stone could be used as they were designed to allow a dragon detail to encircle the base of the Yunoki pedestal.

Hokyointo Pagoda. Very popular with the keen Japanese gardener, the Hokyointo Pagoda, comes in either three and five tier designs (although we have supplied them at other heights, including an eight tier giant). The name is derived from the traditional square bodied temples in which sacred relics were kept. Each tier has a round “moon” window on each side, with ridged corner details and a decorative “sorin” capital. Either Pagoda can also be supplied with pipe-work, to allow you to create a superb water feature, in which the water emerges from the top sorin, and gently cascades down each tier.

Oriental Birdbath. A good-sized birdbath top is mounted on the Yunoki pedestal and can be supplied with or without a brass sundial.

Oriental Sundial. Mounted on the Yunoki pedestal, the “Shining Light “ sundial table has raised and embossed surface detail, including the characters for “Sun” and ”Dial”. The simple gnomon (or pointer)is made from solid brass.

Stepping-Stones. This set of four stepping-stones has heavily embossed and raised detail depicting the characters for the four seasons. “Haru” for spring, “Natsu” for summer, “Aki” for autumn and “fuyu” for winter. A traditional coiled dragon decorates the outer circle of each stone. These stones may also be supplied as Wall plaques with hanging loops in the back.
